Responsible for facilitating onboarding processes and assisting in the monitoring of ARs, James also makes key contributions to our technological systems, processes and technical content powered by Leo.
He works closely with the Compliance Officer (CO) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to established guidelines. His work entails the monitoring of transactions, risk and irregularity identification, and making proposals for corrective actions. He also plays a role in preliminary screening of prospective clients and in conducting due diligence in our onboarding processes to assist the CO in understanding whether respective permission profiles and investment characteristics match Laven’s risk appetite, and to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
James has a strong educational background in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), including a triple major BA from Lancaster University, and an MA in International Law, Ethics, and Politics from the University of Birmingham.
Alongside his studies, James has gained experience in coding with Python, Java, HTML and SQL, and is known for his community engagement having fundraised for the Teenage Cancer Trust by completing the Three Peaks Challenge.
